Bregan was a friend of Red Sonja, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, though the feeling was not mutual. He tried to kill Sonja, and wounded her, so she killed him, though she was angry and drunk at the time, thus not thinking straight, and never intended to kill him.
When the demon, Bhamothes had took control of Sonja's body, her soul was cast elsewhere and she met Bregan yet again, but this time, it was only his soul. Bregan died for the second time, in a similar manner to the first time he died, when he became upset after Sonja said that she did not love him like he loved her and said that he sometimes acted immature, and thus he tried to kill her, again, and wounding her yet again, resulting in his second death by Sonja's blade. As he was a soul the second time he died, he can never return again.

None - He had no powers, but after he died the first time, he gained the power to generate a sword from nothing as he was a soul.
