Britt Reid Jr. was the spoiled son of Britt Reid, the original Green Hornet. After his father is murdered by The Black Hornet, Britt Reid Jr. vowed to get vengeance by becoming the second Green Hornet.
Britt Reid Jr. was born to Britt Reid Sr. and Janet Reid, his father was the original Green Hornet who continued to make the streets safe until he finally retired after taking down some italians and the Yakuza, Britt was never told of his father's identity while growing up.[1]
At some point, his mother died while his father became extremely attached to his job. Over the years, Britt trained in Muay Thai under Dante Pollard, and he also trained in MMA cage fighting, becoming skilled at both, but lacking focus. He eventually grew up to become a lazy playboy, much to his father disappointment.[2]
While attending to one of his father's parties, he defended fought the horde of ninjas that attacked the guests and saw how his father was killed by the Black Hornet.[3] After his dad's funeral, Britt inherited his father's media empire and later met Kato and his daughter Mulan, who revealed to him that his father used to be the Green Hornet.[4] Despite Kato telling him to stay away while he and Mulan planned to avenge his father, Britt stole a Green Hornet costume to assist Mulan and decided to take up the mantle to get revenge on the Black Hornet.[5] After arriving on their base Britt met Clutch Kato, Mulan's cousin, and after some arguing with Kato, they decided to train Britt so he could officially become the next Hornet.[6]
Britt also took over his father's job as publisher of the Daily Sentinel, printing news about his secret activities as a vigilante, he beat down criminals while telling them to send a message to the Black Hornet. He later deduced that Hirohito Juuma was the Black Hornet due to his arrival in Century City coinciding with that of the villain. Britt later went to a party to meet Hirohito Juuma, Frank Scanlon and Grant Tiggiot, the latter showed Reid a stealth atom warfare bomber jet with anti-gravity capabilities called Tiggiot 1.[7] The party was later interrupted by the Black Hornet and his goons, Britt suited up while Mulan appeared and the two fought Hirohito Juuma's forces. After confirming his suspicouns, Britt and Kato went back to their base but they were knocked down by Hirohito and placed on the giant typewriter on top of the Daily Sentinel building. Reid also realized that the Black Hornet's plan was to acquire the stealth bomber and test it out on Century City.[8]
He was once romantically involved with Nikki Stripez, though this did not last long. Despite their history, Nikki did join a team which also consisted of Green Hornet, Pyramid, Blamazon and El Gato Rojo.
