Daniel Reid Junior was the son of Texas Ranger Danier Reid Senior and Linda Reid, the nephew of John "The Lone Ranger" Reid, and the father of Britt "The Green Hornet" Reid Senior.
Daniel was born sometime in the early 1860s (though one account claimed it was 1872[1]) and was raised in Wyoming by his mother Linda. In 1869, he and his mother were moved to Texas by his uncle John after their Wyoming was burned down by Julius "Black Bart" Bartholomew[2]. After moving to Texas, Daniel and Linda moved again following an attack by Butch Cavendish and his gang[3]. Escorted by Tonto's tribe, Dan Junior and Linda lived with a woman named Grandma Frisbee[4].

In the 1890s, Daniel started going to school in Richmond, Virginia to become a lawyer, and graduated in 1896[5]. At some point between 1896 and the 1920s, Daniel created the Daily Sentinel newspaper using money from his uncle's silver mine and had a son named Britt.
In 1936, Daniel suffered a stroke while talking to his uncle John about Britt traveling the world[6]. In 1938, Daniel died due to complications from the stroke[7].
