When Space Colony Omicron of the Galactic Federation was overrun by space pirates, Dr. Jarrod Keplar attempted to contact Space Patrol via a distress signal. However, his efforts proved to be in vain and he was soon killed by Tansut. His adolescent children, Jace and Jan, attempted to flee, but were deceived and captured by the corrupt Space Patrol officers Brak and Sisto. They were rescued by the mysterious vigilante Space Ghost, who took them to his base on the Ghost Planet and trained them to be his sidekicks, so that they could seek justice for their father's death.
