Lokar is the leader of the Immortal Swarm, whose insatiable hunger causes them to devour all they come across. As such, they are viewed as harbingers of an impending apocalypse. While the Cult of Lokar firmly believes in the Swarm and sacrifices victims in attempt to bring about their arrival, most other individuals believe them to be purely mythical figures. When Zorak escaped from Omegan Prison, he commandeered the Hadron Collider at Grax-3 and used it, combined with the significant power supply of Space Ghost's terraformer guantlets to open a portal allowing Lokar and his Immortal Swarm into our world.
