Lyster was a beggar, but the people of Dinander did not give him anything, so he began to steal from them, but was caught and imprisoned. While he spent time in the gaol, he became friends with Red Sonja, who had also been imprisoned. He was later killed when he was put in the arena and attacked by a lion.
