Synopsis for "The Return of Kulan Gath Part One: The Goddess"Edit
Sonja awakens in a cave and is being nursed back to health by Suumaro. Osin tells him that her recuperative abilities are very rapid and she would soon heal. As she is coming around she has a dream about giving thanks to the goddess. She remembers her childhood when her family and village was destroyed and burned. Two men had just raped her and we're going to leave her to die by burning and not even kill her with a sword. Sonja recalls that she went to the woods for refuge and there in anguish cried out, and the goddess appeared to her, and there was an owl that preceded the coming of the goddess. As she comes around further, Osin begins to tell the events of what happened, and the woolly mammoth was sent by Suumaro to save them from the unnamed man that lurked in the woods and wore the skin of a wolf. Osin states that he was killed by the falling rocks as well as the mammoth who had been stabbed in the eye by the unnamed man.

Suumaro draws a picture , except for the eyes, because he was afraid it might see him, but it was a drawing of the Borat-Na Fori. This was the shadow that was following him as well as a curse upon his father Quillo. Apparently, Quillo’s wife is a willing servant of Borat-Na Fori. Sonja states in Gathia that She killed the Celestial One who was one of the spawn of the Borat-Na Fori. Osin comments that he was there as well, but it seemed at that time, that Sonja left him for dead. Also Osin no longer has the tattoo on his forehead. Suumaro does not partake of meat; Osin eats a lot. Suumaro thought there was a saying that "The meek of the world shall rise to rule." But Sonja took that differently:“I BELIEVE IT. BUT I HEAR A DIFFERENT MEANING IN THAT SAYING. I BELIEVE THAT TO MEAN THE MEEK OF SPIRIT. THEY GATHER NOW TO THE NORTH, AND IT'S THIS WORLD THEY INTEND ON RULING, SUUMARO, NOT THE PEACEFUL CITIZENS OF YOUR HOPES.”
Suumaro tells of his similar goddess that appeared to him preceded by an owl as well, but he was hunting a rabbit and wanting too save its life he swore not to eat meat. Sonja is surprised that they had similar experiences.

They decide to set out and stop the rising of the dark god. Osin wants to go and make sure the bards get his name right as he dies in glorious battle saving the world. They prepare to journey to the northern land with the rising of the Borat-Na Fori, which was to take place in the incarnation of a child. It is observed Afrea, Quillo's wife, is with child and soon to deliver and Kulan Gath, from another dimension looks on as things begin to unfold.
Notes
Matt5:3 “Blessed5 are the poor in spirit,6 for the kingdom of heaven belongs7 to them.
5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.8
5:5 “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Red Sonja and Suumaro appear to know of the beatitudes of Jesus that would not be till many millennia to come. Red Sonja switches the location of the “kingdom”, and the unquoted verse is the "poor in spirit will inherit the Kingdom of heaven." She means the Meek now come to seek a ruler To establish their kingdom here on Earth. Earlier in recollection of her youth and the flashback, there are those that would look like Roman soldiers of a much later time, they were enforcing the law on the land. but the emblem and their devotion to righteousness could be a much later time period from which Roy Thomas created Sonja from the Medieval heroin Sonya of Rogatino by Robert Howard[1]. It seems that Sonja does not have a high view of organized religion. Also another character of Robert Howard's was Solomon Kane who was a Puritan that like Sonja used the sword for vengeance.
