The goddess tells her" you are not alone. Your tears have been cried a thousand times by a thousand women. I have heard their cries, felt their pain, seen their tears... for far too long. Now they shall have a champion with a blade in her hands." She goes on further comforting her and telling her that a little girl is robbed of her family of love and chastity, and you child need a mother's love. Sonja tells the goddess that her father once said while hunting "respect life and give thanks." The goddess also gives her the vow That no man can ever have you unless he best you with the blade for he must be worthy to receive you." I shall bless you with wisdom and war. Red Sonja Vol 1 13 goddess

The Goddess

The goddess tells Sonja that Astroth, Toth, Kruel and Tulsa Doom, were men who endured great trials. And she stated the reason men go into combat and face those trials is they are not like women, who every month are reminded of the potential death they face in bearing a child. She further gave Sonja tasks to perform Which include eating two types of a lotus flower and eventually kissing a snake that slept within the cave.

A epithet of King Quillo by Barro, recounts how he lost his Kingdom to a goddess beneath the city who cast a spell upon him. Suumaro was his son. A rebellion arose with great slaughter with the Borat-Na-Fori driving off a few of those who resisted with Suumoro as fugitives.

Suumoro , Red Sonja and Osin are laying down on a snow mountain and the troops of the Borat-Na-Fori. Siguth formarly Sigurd east of Hyperborea. Suddenly They are attacked but quickly fined off the foes and make their escape. Suumaro Dismounts and tells his father to call back the troops , but for too long they are all involved in a fray of sword play. A decapitated horse comes to Sonja and possessed by the dark god states she is the target of wrath by her very breathing and Gathia will suffer. Even more threatening was the desire to wear Sonja's flesh!. The battle resulted in her arm being broken, but set by Osin. Suumaro tries to appeal to his captured father Quillo, but he desires no reconciliation.

On the day of the battle the same day in history, Afrea labored most of the day, with a most gruesome delivery that consumed her very life. The child came out with fully formed teeth and a glow from his eyes and presumably the dark god incarnate..

After the battle the goddess appears to Suumaro and Red Sonja, and states they are both her children, and Osin is there and all he sees is an owl. She states that the dark shadow of evil arises and Borat-Na Fori is the dark god. It is crucial that Sonja obtains her blade and the goddess states she will help her and the hope lies within the loins of the old gods In the forgotten lords of Suumaro's land. The goddess encourages them to awaken the gods but tread lightly, because they might harm them. She then releases an incantation. The child of Afrea and the dark god is central to a coming blood sacrifice that will involve Sonja. Already the streams of water ouside Vanaheim are turning blood red.

Notes

In the Marvel Sonja, Savage Sword 29[1], Mitra wanted a force of vengeance and Erlik (the fallen one , the dark god) forged the sword. Afrea's son resembles her, and apparently grows up quickly, and is the incarnation of Erlik if the names were the same as the dark god. Already the streams are blood red like a miracle Moses did in Egypt when trying to liberate the Hebrews. The Celestial One[2] was actually one of the Zedda even as Moses was one of the Hebrews, although he lived in Pharaoh's house. The incarnation is from the dark god or the Borat-Na Fori, and the sword of Sonja will actually deliver the people of the oppression from the dark god. Afrea willing to giving herself and her flesh to her son, hearkens back to the devotion of the human sacrifices to the Celestial one. Mitra is and old god and was good and the sword will be an instrument for good. Sonja is the barer of the sword. The incarnation of the dark god is the opposite of the incarnation of Christ, as many Christians are pacifists and saying not to take up the sword. Or as Jesus rebuked Peter for chopping off a slaves ear.
