Synopsis for "Life & Death"Edit
Red Sonja awakens in a pile of cold, dank,, odiferous corpses, obviously in pain From the knife thrust into her chest by Fa. He retrieves her from the bodies and tells her it was the only way to save her from his master — the Celestial One. As he speaks an incantation over her, as Fa seems to look like an owl coming for its prey, he states that Red Sonja is reborn, and on the outside an owl in the night peers in. Later, Sonja states she felt herself die, and Fa says “it was I who brought you back from the edge of death.” He explains that it was the blade of Vaven from the great idol, and it was to feign her death. He remarks that it keeps her alive for a while until it is replaced. Sonja distrusts Fa and thinks he is trying to gain access to her loins, but he states that he is a eunuch. He explains how the Celestial One brought peace to the constant warring , but that he was a cruel master, but even so, the people still love him because of the peace he brought. And Sonja understands the rebellion of Fa against the cruelty, and she’s ready to face him beginning with the removal of the blade from her chest. Fa supplies worthy troops: Mika, Kang, Solath, and Osin.

On the ride through Gathia, Solath, a similarly clad warrior as Sonja, states her family served the Celestial One, but she left her family because she had become discouraged of what happened to the land and her parents in their religious ardor had even forgot of her existence. She considered them dead to her, which Sonja questions slightly. They see a display of the harshness of their master before they arrive at the temple on the cliff. Once at the cliff, they determine a plan, and Sonja would remove the blade and place it back in the idol. They know they only have four heartbeats to replace it, and as Sonja removes the blade from her chest, Solath decapitates everyone but Osin, and then Sonja uses the very blade to kill Solath. Osin replaces the blade and then is tending the wounds of Sonja’s chest while still unconscious. As Red Sonja comes to she gives a strong uppercut to the jaw of Osin. They gave a burial for their friends, and set out in a downpour of rain, only to be confronted with a small army.
