Robert Vernon was the superhero known as Tek Knight, unlike other super heroes in The Boys universe, Tek Knight does not gain his powers from Compound V but instead uses technology. He's one of the founding members of Payback. Prior to his association with Payback, he previously led a group known as the Maverikz.
History[]
Early days[]

Robert Vernon became the superhero "Tek Knight" and eventually gained a sidekick who was known as Laddio, during their early days the duo faced a female villain that went by the name "Talon", during their confrontations she bounced back and forth between being on Robert's side and against him, they eventually saw their chases as just being three friends playing a game as much as anything else.
A few years later, Talon showed up in Vernon's house, they both went into the Tek-Cave and started drinking some wine together. She later asked him to invite his former sidekick, who now went by the name of Swingwing in order to make it a "proper reunion". They had a fun time talking about the old days and all the crazy shit they went through. Suddenly Talon and Swingwing started kissing and touching each other, Robert was getting up in order to leave them to it but Talon stopped him, the three then had a threesome in the Tek-Cave. After this, Robert and Swingwing had a falling out over Talon, a grudge they maintained for the following years.
Losing control[]
Robert eventually found a second Laddio. One day, after a false tip to capture a terrorist army, Tek Knight along with the rest of Payback were flying back to their headquarters and he became aware of fellow teammate and robot, Mind-Droid's rear end. Tek tried having relations with him in mid-flight and was suspended from the team. Since then he started a non-stop urge to fuck anything that will suffice (and even things that won't). He tried going to a psychiatrist and even ended up trying to have his way with the doctor's coffee cup and cat.
Tek Knight is beaten by the Female.
Luckily Tek Knight was able to send off Laddio on a mission to "prove himself to be a man" in order to remove the temptation of having his way with him too. He later tried to have sex with his butler Thomas, only getting as far as his ear. Thomas then left and told a newspaper that he was sexually assaulted by his master, with the newspaper nicknaming Tek as the "Homo Hero".
Robert then came to the attention of The Boys when they were investigating the death of Stephen Rubenstein. He pushed them out of his house when they were asking too much questions but they returned and Tek ended up being beaten by The Female when he almost shot Butcher and Hughie. Tek is then interrogated by The Boys and he tells them the truth about his relationship with his former sidekick and the threesome they had.
Death[]
Tek Knight fantasises about saving the world.
Tek Knight eventually retires but saves a woman and her child from a falling wheelbarrow full of bricks because it was hit by an asteroid rain. In his last dying moments, he envisions himself saving the Earth from an asteroid as big as Texas, and dying heroically by having sex with it right before he makes it explode. In reality, this was just the cover story for his death, as Robert actually was killed by the falling wheelbarrow. Later it is revealed he had a huge tumor on his brain which caused his weird desires.
