The Mob is the name used by a mobster in the year 1943, who was masquerading as a superhero after he had been effectively deputized by the government, and thus abused his power and started killing people, claiming it was for justice. Despite fancying himself as a hero, he was far from it, and Miss Fury was to kill him, though she refused to kill him as she said she was one of the good guys, and then a group of Time Killers showed up and wounded Miss Fury, giving The Mob a chance to help Miss Fury and become a real hero.
